Kleinwood

Kleinwood is a residential housing design and construction project.   The custom home is over 4,000+ square feet and located in the mountainous region of Kirkwood,CA.  This particular initiative was undertaken by Klein Construction a family owned contracting business.  The design was a collaborative effort between myself, Mary Lyn Klein, Don Klein, Jerry Brendli and Aaron Klein.  The construction of the project was lead and appropriated primarily by Don Klein, Aaron Klein, and myself. 

Living environments are one of the more complete user experience design projects.  They are one of the products that outlast their user and allow for continual design improvements.  The complexity of a project of this nature is heightened when the building and use are in an extreme environment where special considerations need to be taken into place.  I was involved in every aspect of this project.  One of the more interesting dimensions to a project of this nature is employing building techniquies that both protect against sever weather and ensure the most energy efficiency.
